4" Owens Corning 703 Fiberglass Acoustical Board is a highly rated absorber for all ranges of sound frequencies. 4" 703 Fiberglass panels are very good at absorbing Low, Mid, and High sound frequencies as the Acoustical Performance Chart below illustrates. These Owens Corning 703 4 inch fiberglass panels are used as the core insulation for Acoustic Bass Traps. These Bass Traps are placed in the corners and on the back walls of home theaters, sound studios, media rooms, etc.
DIY ACOUSTICAL BASS TRAPS:
4" Owens Corning 703 Fiberglass panels are inserted into a 2ft x 4ft frame and then wrapped with acoustical transparent fabric and fastened to walls/ceilings with panel hardware. Bass Traps are traditionally placed catty corner in the back corners of a room and are also placed on the back walls opposite of the sound source.

It is a fine product. Better than using batt insulation. BIP was great and shipped quickly. Kinda pricey though.

Great quality and Prompt delivery
703 is a no nonsense workhorse, and buyinsulationproductstore.com has great service and prompt shipping. I used to get 703 through a Acoustics store through Amazon but the wasnt as fast or streamline. I now refer anyone needing to treat acoustic problems here

Great price, but arrived dirty
I previously ordered the 2 inch version and it arrived in fantastic shape. But the 4 inch version arrived covered in black charcoal-like debris which got stuck in my acoustic fabric. Fortunately, it vacuumed off pretty easily. It arrived quickly and at a great price, so I would order it again.

Having a home recording studio, I was ready to build out a recording booth. After researching several alternatives, the Owens Corning 4" 703 was the best choice. Not only is the sound frequency absorption properties virtually perfect across the spectrum, the price is unbeatable. The quality of my recordings has dramatically increased, I couldn't be happier.
