Resilient Isolation Clips are designed to decouple drywall from a wall or ceiling structure which results in a reduction in sound transmission. MetroFlex clips are easy to install by simply being screwed to existing wood or steel studs/joists. Hat Channel is held in place by resilient channel clips spread no more than 48” apart. Drywall is then installed on top of the Hat Channel by simply being screwed into the channel strips. Drywall isolation clips can reduce noise transfer from between 75% to 100%.

INSTALLATION METHODS:
The Stack Method is the easiest way to install MetroFlex clips. Clips are stacked no more then 48” apart horizontally on the studs and the same stud location is used for all pieces of Resilient Channel.Clips must be installed on both ends of the wall to ensure adequate support. The Stack Method is not recommended on ceiling applications where the weight of the ceiling should be spread among all joists.
The Staggered Method is the most effective way to install MetroFlex Clips, but uses more clips than the Stack Method. The same 48” Max Rule applies, but clips on the adjacent Resilient Channel are not placed on the same stud spot as above or below. Simply move the clip one stud to the left of the clip above. Clips must be installed on both ends of the wall to ensure adequate support.

Great soundproofing clips
Bought everything from your site besides the sheetrock for my mix room. Walls were Roxul Batts - RSIC Clips - hat channel 25 gauge - 5/8" Firecode X - Green Glue - 5/8" Firecode X. I cannot say for sure if the clips are what worked, but the total results are great. Will be buying panels in a few weeks.
