VI-CRYL CP-11 weather barrier coating is a tough, durable, and fire-resistive water based white thermal mastic for most types of thermal insulation and finishing/insulating cements. It is very thixotropic - it looks heavy but spreads easily. Childers mastic is outdoor rated and U.V. resistant.
USES:
VI-CRYL CP-11 thermal mastic paste is unsurpassed for the mechanical protection and weatherproofing of thermal insulations both outdoors and indoors, in hot, cold, and dual-temperature service. However, since it is a ‘breathing’ coating (vapors under pressure will pass through it) it should only be used over insulations in low temperature, or dual-temperature service when the insulations themselves are vapor barriers (Fiberglass Pipe's ASJ paper is a vapor barrier). Childers CP-11 White Mastic has also found use throughout the thermal insulation industry as a coating used over closed cell polyethylene and polyurethane foam insulations.
*Note from Buy Insulation Products - CP-11 and CP-10 are great for sealing up insulation on chilled water systems. Use Childers CP-11 White Mastic to seal up all exposed fiberglass, paint any tape seams and SSL closures to prevent condensation buildup on the pipes.

CP-11 works wonderfully
We use this product as an exhaust coating over fiberlass insulation. It repels water nicely and holds the insulation in place really well. The only drawback is that it can harden after opening if not sealed perfectly.

CP-11 gets CP-9 stars
This product is fantastic in applying, and really gives a fine weatherproof seal when dried. The only drawback in the product is if you dont seal it correctly, it will dry up. A good buy.

Seals up fiberglass nicely
Our plant had a chilled water pipe that was constantly dripping and condensating since it was exposed to steam exhaust. I was informed by Buy Insulation how to properly insulate the pipe and how using CP11 was very important to seal the fiberglass and prevent condensation throughout the system. I painted all edges of the pipe insulation especially near all the fittings. I then wrapped all the piping with PVC jacket and it has seemed to do the trick. I am pleased with the level of service I received from this company. A+
