New Product Alert!   Our customers asked for them and now they are a stock item: new Stainless Steel Drill Screws with EPDM Rubber Washers.  Up until now the two methods of fastening aluminum pipe jacketing were fab-strap bands with seals and drill screws.  Fab-straps will always have their place as a fastener of industrial insulation with metal jacketing, however the standard drill screws could be improved upon.

Standard drill screws used as fasteners on aluminum and stainless steel jacketing could create a penetration that water could enter over the life of the insulation system.  Drilling holes into the jacket does create a tight closure for pipe insulation jacket but it does cause a small puncture in the jacketing itself.  Some insulators put a dab of aluminum color silicone caulk around the screw for moisture protection, however many do not.  Over time with seismic movements, these holes may allow water to creep into the insulation system.  

Now with our new Stainless Steel Drill Screws w/ Rubber Washers, water penetration is no longer an issue.  The EPDM Rubber washer seals the hole the screw makes into the jacketing.  EPDM is also UV stable which does not break down as easily as other rubber products.
