Acoustical Electrical Outlet Expanders are used to expand the depth of a single gang electrical box for both receptacles and switches. The Xpander is fire rated and UL Listed.
APPLICATION:
When installing a second layer of drywall either in conjunction with Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound, electrical outlet boxes and/or switch boxes will be burried behind the newest addition of drywall. The wall outlet extender is installed to expand the depth of the box and allow the switch or receptacles to be flush with the second layer of drywall.
*Note: Each Outlet should have an Acoustical Putty Pad applied to the back of the box for soundproofing purposes.
