Order glass insulation tape online for your next job. Glass Reinforced Tape is used to securely hold pipe insulation halves on piping (most commonly used with Mineralwool, Calcium Silicate, and Polyurethane pipe insulations). Because these types of insulations commonly do not come with jacketings that can hold the halves of insulation on the pipes, insulators will secure the insulation with Glass Filament Tape before a jacketing is applied afterwards.
Glass Filament Tape can be used to secure the bottom layer of Grease Duct Fire Blanket Insulation (Fyrewrap Elite 1.5 or 3M Fire Barrier 615+) before the second layer is installed. This reinforced insulation tape however cannot be used for single layer Fyrewrap Elite 1.5 installs or on any exposed layer of fire blanket.
*Tip: When using this reinforced insulation tape to secure fibrous materials, make sure to overlap the tape so it can adhere to itself to form a strong band around the material.

This tape was extremely useful. I used it to tape an insulation blanket on hot water heater. I also used this for some extra pipe insulation pieces that I previously purchased from Lowe’s. This holds EXTREMELY well I was very surprised!!
