XPS Extruded Polystyrene Board Sealing Joint Tape
Owens Corning offers three different types of XPS Extruded Polystyrene Insulation Board seam-sealing joint tapes. These Owens Corning products include JointSealR Tape, HomeSealR Tape, and FlashSealR Tape.
Owens Corning JointSealR Tape: Owens Corning JointSealR Foam Joint Tape is used to tape the joints of FOAMULAR extruded polystyrene (XPS) board in vertical wall applications as continuous insulation over steel or wood wall framing, or as masonry cavity wall insulation. The durable backing, coated with an aggressive acrylic adhesive offers excellent adhesion, strength, handleability, and flexibility. JointSealR Foam Joint Tape will move along with building materials as they flex and adjust to the change in seasons, allowing it to stay in place and not create gaps in the weather barrier.
Owens Corning HomeSealR Tape: Owens Corning HomeSealR Foam Joint Tape is a low cost homeowner alternative to using Owens Corning JointSealR Tape. HomeSealR Tape is used to tape the joints of FOAMULAR extruded polystyrene (XPS) board in residential vertical wall applications when it is used as continuous insulation over steel or wood wall framing. Owens Corning HomeSealR Foam Joint Tape provides reliable adhesion to FOAMULAR XPS insulation.
Owens Corning FlashSealR Tape: Owens Corning FlashSealR Foam Flashing Tape is a durable, flexible and tear resistant self-adhering flashing tape recommended for use with Foamular Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Sheathing products in residential and commercial construction applications to seal around window and door openings. The aggressive, pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive provides excellent adhesion to Foamular 150 or 250 Insulation, Foamular Insulated Sheathing, or Foamular ProPink Sheathing and other common building substrates including OSB, plywood, vinyl and spunbonded polyolefin housewrap. FlashSealR Foam Flashing Tape helps provide effective protection against air infiltration and water penetration and can be applied over a wide range of temperatures.
