Green Glue Acoustical Sealant is an acoustic grade caulk that is used to seal joints and cracks in soundproof wall, ceiling, and floor systems. One of the most common reasons for noise issues in walls and ceilings is sound flanking through cracks and small crevices. These tiny air gaps allow sound to freely transmit from one side of the structure to the other. These air gaps are most commonly found around electrical outlets, light switches, and wall perimeters (bottom of wall behind trim molding).
Green Glue Noiseproofing Acoustical Sealant is easily dispensed through a quart sized caulking gun and provides approximately 40-50 linear feet per tube (at a 3/8" bead). Green Glue Sealant was previously known as SilenSeal Sealant.

Green Glue Acoustical Sealant
Stays softer than other acoustical sealants I've tried. I've had other brands that have bad tube pistons that leak sealant past them rendering the whole tube useless. That never happened with Green Glue sealant. If you need to fill large holes/seams, this may not be the best because it does not come out as thick as other brands, but I like it best for "normal" seams and cracks.

Difficult to Apply
We are in the process of building a recording studio. We use this product to seal cracks and spaces between drywall parts. The large container is cumbersome and harder to manage, especially in odd shaped work spaces. The nozzle is huge and makes it difficult to apply the material into smaller cracks and openings. I can not comment about the effectiveness of the product in comparison with other caulking products, simply because we are not set to conduct scientific tests.
